Psychedelic Experience

The psychedelic experience is a non-ordinary state of consciousness characterized by the dissolution of boundaries between the self and external reality. When guided by experienced counselors in a structured set and setting, entheogenic substances may cause many people to have a profound transpersonal peak experience, also known as a transcendental, mystical or spiritual experience.

An ecstatic state similar to those described in the ancient mystical traditions of Eastern philosophies and Western religions, this peak experience may include:

• Deep feelings of joy and serenity


• Emotionally intense visions


• Awareness of becoming a non-physical being


• Feeling that one has left one's body; i.e., out-of-body experience


• Feelings of ego dissolution and loss of identity


• Re-experiencing the birth process


• Vivid dreams and memories of past incarnations


• Encounters with archetypal beings


• Visits to mythological realms of consciousness


• Experience of psychological death and rebirth of ego


• Feelings of cosmic unity with humanity, nature, the universe and God

The psychedelic experience (or transpersonal entheogenic experience) is auspicious in helping our clients overcome alcohol addiction and maintain lifelong sobriety. It also supports their transformation to an optimal lifestyle and may lead to spontaneous healing.
