Eleusis - Alternative Addiction Treatment Program using Psychedelic Psychotherapy
Alternative Addiction Treatment Center at Eleusis

Program Structure

The alcohol and drug addiction recovery program at Eleusis is administered from Sunday through Friday evening 3 weeks later. Our WELL program offers more than 90 hours of encounter groups, interactive classes and didactic lectures in a peaceful residential setting.

Each day focuses on specific themes that are marked by a holistic approach to body, mind and spirit. The morning begins at 6 a.m. with a half-hour personal purification ritual, including self-massage done with mindfulness. Before breakfast, the group participates in 1 hour of yoga stretching, 10 minutes of structured breathing exercises and 20 minutes of meditation. Clients participate in five group sessions daily: two psychoeducational groups, two encounter groups and one self-support group, or Wisdom Circle.

Faculty and attendees prepare all dinners together, providing participants with experience in healthy cooking. This meal preparation time reinforces participants in sound nutritional principles and continues to expand on the themes of mindfulness and healthy lifestyle choices. Only plant-based meals are served, with a true vegan diet that excludes eggs and dairy products, in addition to meat, poultry and fish.

Except as prescribed by a physician, no drugs are permitted, including:

  • Caffeine (coffee, tea, colas)
  • Nicotine (any forms of tobacco)
  • Alcohol (beer, wine, distilled spirits)

Clients are encouraged to abstain from all chemical substances for two weeks prior to entering the program. This two-week detoxification period will reduce the likelihood that program participation will be hindered by withdrawal symptoms.

For the emotional and physical safety of all group members, no sexual or aggressive behavior is permitted during the program. Participants are requested to make every effort to be on time for all groups, and no eating or drinking is permitted during sessions. Full participation in all aspects of the WELL program is encouraged.

We recommend that you do not schedule any activities on the weekend of your return home and that you spend that weekend in solitude and contemplation, if possible, before returning to your normal routine.
