Philosophy
The Wellness Enhancement and Longevity Learning (WELL) program at the Eleusis addiction treatment center is grounded in the principles of preventive medicine and bio-psycho-socio-spiritual psychiatry. The program incorporates the technique of Psychedelic Psychotherapy, along with a number of other alternative therapies and self-help techniques that complement the psychotherapeutic properties of the entheogenic experience.
Preventive Medicine and Addiction Recovery
As preventive medicine, the WELL program outlines a self-directed path to addiction recovery and lifelong sobriety through the conscious lifestyle choices our clients make related to:
While participating in the WELL program, our clients learn attitudes, strategies and tools to help them optimize their health, prevent toxicity and neutralize stress. By doing so, the program supports their recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction by teaching them how to live a longer, healthier and, ultimately, a sober life.
Psychedelic Psychotherapy: Catalyst for Recovery
The centerpiece of the WELL program, Psychedelic-Enhanced Psychotherapy, is based on the therapeutic principles of existential and transpersonal psychologies. This powerful alternative addiction treatment technique allows patients to consciously reprogram their minds during the temporary dissolution of their psychological defense mechanisms. During a psychedelic-induced transpersonal experience, clients may gain insight into their addictions and may be highly receptive to psychological healing and to recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
Complementary Therapies: Lifestyle Rehabilitation
The second component of the WELL program, lifestyle rehabilitation, incorporates alternative therapies and self-help techniques that support the insights clients may gain during the mind-expanding experience of Psychedelic Psychotherapy.
During the three-week residential program, our patients participate in more than 90 hours of encounter groups, interactive classes and psychoeducational lectures.
The home-like setting at Eleusis allows clients to practice healthful lifestyle habits as part of their daily routines. They apply the program's nutritional guidelines while preparing their own daily meals in a fully stocked kitchen. They attend morning Yoga classes and evening Wisdom Circle groups.
Other typical program treatments and activities include:
During the WELL program, our clients learn and practice alternative strategies and self-help techniques that support their continued recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction.
